MADAMA BUTTERFLY Matinee

Giacomo Puccini has created the operatic heroine, who goes through a psychological experience process in the course of the opera. As a 15-year-old child she starts the opera - and ends it as  "existentially disappointed". 

"Butterfly believes in her "American dream", she sacrifices her life to this dream, she negates the reality and is mercilessly overtaken by it."

American soprano Talise Trevigne plays "Butterfly" The German mezzo-soprano Kristina Stanek playing Cio-Cio-San, along with the artistic team of this production, gives insights into Puccini's interpretation of his work, in this matinee. Musical contributions by the ensemble will enrich this foretaste of the forthcoming opera premiere.
