Recommended for the warm months of spring and summer (it's outdoors!): Landestelle Restaurant & Bar near the port of Basel. Great location right next to the Rhine, local garden, good food, good drinks - perfect for a get-together with friends or family.

The restaurant serves seasonal and regional dishes with fresh herbs.

Over lunch, you can get a vegetarian dish from CHF 18.- or one with meat from 22.-.

In the evening, the restaurant recommends its Landestelle platter with vegetarian and meat options for CHF 36.- / 34.- per person. Same principle for their apéro and dessert platters.

You can get fresh paninis all day long, as well as feta cheese & olives, homemade cakes, and desserts.

The bar has an extensive cocktail and drinks menu.

Get there on foot or by bike (there's no car park). Coming from Dreirosenbrücke, head towards Kleinhüningen along the Rhine, turning left when you hit the stile that takes you across the railway tracks into the port area.
