The band with the original name has been intoxicating fans with its sound for the past 30 years: Bohren & der Club of Gore was founded in the Ruhr Region, Germany’s industrial heartland, back in 1988 by four friends as the hardcore and doom-metal band Bohren. Since then, the four musicians have really shaped their own style and created a blend of jazz, doom-metal and ambient. The band has been cultivating this so-called doom-ridden jazz sound since 1993 as Bohren & der Club of Gore, a link to the Dutch instrumental band Gore.
