The Body is My Canvas Exhibition

The body as motif has played a prominent role in art history for a long time. Be it in sculpture, depictions of the Passion of Christ, or in current politically motivated action art, it is always the body that addresses either inner emotion or outer society. Even feminist-oriented art, such as body art based primarily on performance, would be unthinkable without the use of the female body as material.

"The Body is My Canvas" is the first exhibition at studio and exhibition space Voltage. Nine artists and two lecture will be focusing on the body as a motif. The exhibition is curated by art historian and artist Ana Vujic.
