Namaste! Daniela Geering-Fuentes, cofounder of B.Yoga speakes with Matt tonight. The yoga center caters to Basel's English-speaking population and promotes a style of yoga developed in New York called Jivamukti yoga - a method that maintains the integrity of the yoga tradition while remaining accessible to Westerners.
Daniela offers a Yoga Workshop for beginniers this Sunday in Basel!
Isabelle Ferrari has been documenting Switzerland’s Bed and Breakfasts for almost a decade. She and her co-writers recently published a book of their favorites, named, appropriately, “Charming Bed and Breakfasts in Switzerland” - places perfect for stowing overflow guests and visiting family, and perfect for a weekend getaway of your own.
Amy Stapleton has resurrected an English Show Classic… The roadtrip report. This month: a relaxing but reasonably priced spa experience in Baden-Baden.
Don't forget that the month long celebration of the human voice - the Stimmen festival - kicks off tomorrow night at 20:30 with a concert by Cape Verdi singer-songwriter Sara Tavares at the Burghoff in Loerrach. Other performers this week are Marianne Faithful and Bobby McFerrin.

Ann Allen, mover and shaker in the Basel music scene, joins us with exciting details about the Stimmen Festival. Headliners like Bobby McFerrin, Snow Patrol and Tracy Chapman as well as lesser known and equally talented acts will be bringing their gifts to the region for the next five weeks. The Festival is based a six minute train ride from the Badisher Bahnhof in Lörrach and has several epicenters around Basel as well. Get involved in a singing workshop or just sing along at one of the shows.
Jo Ralph is the Centrepoint Theatre Critic and brings us a monthly update on the Basel theater scene. What's happening in summer theater in Augusta Raurica, the open air rebuilt Roman Amphitheater, a short retrospective of "Hair" in the Basel Theater, and a peek ahead to Mozart Operas and Shakespearean plays at the Theater Basel.
Gabriella Londero of the New Stork Times joins us by phone to tell us about this valuable resource for parents in Switzerland. First published seventeen years ago as a mimeographed sheet, The New Stork Times is a now a ten times per year full color magazine chock full of parenting tips and valuable information for parents. This month's issue features stories about the Emotional Freedom Technique, things to do in Appenzeller, Flexible Vegetarianism, and more!

Appropriate technologies can be used to address the inequalities and injustices faced by millions of communities around the world who lack access to the basic resources required for a dignified life, including drinking water supply, sanitation, electrical supply, and construction. Oliver Style stopped by to tell to Matt about the work he's doing with ITACA, Inovacion en Tecnologia Apropiada y Automona, or Innovation in Community Based and Autonomous Appropriate Technology. ITACA is a Basel-based NGO that supports the implementation of technologies in developing world. Projects must be easy to construct and maintain, low cost, and use local resources as far as possible, and last, but not least, be locally driven. Tune in for a fascinating conversation with someone working on the front lines of third world development. If you'd like to contribute to the work ITACA is doing, visit their webpage, or

Marianne Kuehner speaks with Maria about the Hohlraum11 in the Guendeli, her life in Basel, and other projects. The Hohlraum, or Empty Space, is meant to provide an opportunity for artists and others to create their venue for their events.
Kevin Pollard speaks with Ciarán about opportunities provided by schalf -in-stroh - "sleep in straw" a genial alternative to the youth hostel system that's just started in Switzerland a few years ago. Hear about how to take advantage of a rustic bed and breakfast opportunity - to sleep in a farmer's barn, have breakfast in the morning and then head out for a fabulous day.
Celebrate Father's Day this Sunday June 21st at the Raising a Family in Basel - sponsored by the Basel Childbirth Trust. Speakers, resource exchange and play time will occur from 13:00-18:00 pm at the Freizeithalle Dreirosen.
